Solebury Lions Club Receives $500 Grant

If you’ve attended The New Hope Automobile Show, you’ve likely been welcomed by a member of the Solebury Lions Club. The Solebury Lions have been volunteering in support of the show as greeters at the show gates for decades. Club member Kevin Nakashima hasn’t missed a year since he started volunteering in the 1970’s. Out of gratitude for this longstanding service and role in making the 2018 show a success, the New Hope-Solebury Community Association recently awarded the Solebury Lions Club a grant of $500.

“We are involved in many local service projects throughout our community,” said Barbara Mills, president of the Solebury Lions Club. “These grant funds will go towards our annual Scholarship to a graduating senior from New Hope-Solebury High School.”

The 2019 New Hope Automobile Show returns as a two-day show on the New Hope-Solebury High School grounds Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11, 2019. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are available. The Tenth Annual New Hope Automobile Show Road Rally hits the road Sunday, July 28, 2019 and anticipation for the big show builds with a Cars & Coffee (C&C) meet-up Sunday, August 4, 2019. All proceeds raised by the all-volunteer non-profit New Hope-Solebury Community Association benefit scholarships to New Hope-Solebury High School students, school programs, and many non-profit organizations throughout the region.
