Suspected Credit Card Thief Sought By New Hope Borough Police

This woman entered the Wawa store on West Bridge and attempted to use a stolen credit card​ to purchase food and cigarettes.

NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope Borough Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying this suspected credit card thief.

On Sept. 14 at 3:27 p.m., police said the woman entered the Wawa convenience store located at 341 West Bridge Street and attempted to use a stolen credit card to purchase food and cigarettes.

The credit card was in a wallet stolen from a vehicle parked on Swan Street in Lambertville, New Jersey.

Police said surveillance video shows the suspect operating a black sedan, possibly a Nissan Maxima, entering Pennsylvania via the Lambertville-New Hope free bridge at approximately 3:06 a.m. The suspect then left Wawa at 3:44 a.m. and returned to New Jersey via the Lambertville New Hope free bridge.

It appears that the vehicle had a handicap placard hanging from the rear-view mirror, police said.
