11 Motorists Cited For Ignoring Road Closure Signs In Upper Makefield

During Saturday's rain storm, about a dozen motorists chose to ignore the road closure signs, said Upper Makefield Police.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — At the height of Saturday's rain storm, numerous roads were closed throughout the township due to flooding, downed trees and power lines, according to the Upper Makefield Police Department.

As of late Saturday night, two roads remained closed - River Road between Jonathan Way and Francisco's on the river and River Road at Lookout Park.

Throughout the day, Upper Makefield Police said they issued 11 citations to motorists caught going around road closure barriers.

"This will be an expensive lapse in judgment for them," said police. "Hopefully next time when faced with a large road closed sign, they will pause and turn around."
