A heat wave that will bring temperatures that feel as hot as 105 degrees is on the way to Eastern Pennsylvania early next week. The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook, saying heat indices will peak between 100 and 105 degrees on Monday and Tuesday afternoon.

A Heat Advisory may be needed, the NWS said.

The worst of the heat is likely to be on Monday, while temperatures ramp up on Sunday, according to AccuWeather. The heat has the potential to break records Monday, according to Accuweather.

The record high temperature for Philadelphia on June 18 is 96 degrees set in 1957. The record high for June 19 is 100, set in 1994.

  • Wear light clothing.
  • Check on family members and neighbors, especially the elderly.

  • Watch for heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
  • Never leave people or pets in a closed car.
