1950s Sci-Fi Double Feature Coming To The Newtown Theatre

The event will bring two black-and-white classics back to the big screen – "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" and "Them."

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will flash back to the 1950s when it presents an old-fashioned sci-fi double-feature on Friday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The double feature will bring two black-and-white classics back to the big screen – “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” and “Them.”

Released in 1958, “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” features an abused socialite who grows to giant size after an alien encounter. The woman then goes after her cheating husband with revenge on her mind.

1954’s “Them” is one of the first “nuclear monster” films and features a nest of common ants that have mutated into giant man-eating monsters from atomic tests. The ants go on to threaten civilization.

Tickets for this special double-feature event are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com for $22 per person or $17 for theatre members. Tickets include free popcorn, one free drink (alcoholic or non), plus a tin-foil hat contest. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $30 at the door for everyone on the night of the movie (if available).
