2 Big PA Winners As Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs To $868M

Pennsylvania had two big winners in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing but they didn't score the jackpot, which has now soared to an estimated $868 million. There were two million-dollar winners in the Keystone State for Tuesday's drawing. The ticket locations have not yet been revealed by lottery officials.

The winning numbers for Tuesday's drawing were: 3-45-49-61-69, Mega Ball 9.

Nine tickets matched the five white balls to win the game's second prize. One of them, sold in Texas, included the optional Megaplier and is worth $5 million. The other eight are $1 million-dollar tickets. In addition to the two sold in Pennsylvania, one each were sold in California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey and New York.

You'll have another crack at winning that jackpot on Friday, Oct. 19. That's the next Mega Millions drawing.

The estimated $868 million jackpot has now beat the previous mark of $656 million, which was set on March 30, 2012. The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won on July 24, when a California office pool of 11 co-workers shared $543 million, the largest prize ever won on a single ticket in the game, according to lottery officials.

Three other Mega Millions jackpots have been won this year – $451 million on January 5 (Florida), $533 million on March 30 (New Jersey), and $142 million on May 4 (Ohio).

Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays. Tickets are $2 each. The Mega Millions Megaplier option is an additional $1.
