2 Bucks Co. Boys Die After Being Shot By Mother: Police

Two young brothers, who authorities say were shot by their mother last week, have died.

NEWTOWN, PA — Two young brothers from Bucks County, who authorities say were shot by their mother last week, have died, local officials confirmed.

Jeffrey Tini, 13, and Nelson Tini, 9, both passed away on Friday, May 6, the Council Rock School District confirmed in a statement.

"We are deeply saddened to lose two of our Council Rock students and will miss them greatly," Acting Superintendent of Schools Susan Elliott wrote. "This tragic event has shocked our Council Rock community."

Jeffrey was an eigth grader at Newtown Middle School. Nelson was in third grade at Sol Feinstone Elementary.

Trinh Nguyen, 38, shot both boys in the head inside their home on Timber Ridge Road on May 2, authorities said.

The pair had been kept on life support following last week's shooting so that their organs could be donated, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office previously announced.

Council Rock says they're providing extensive support for students, staff, and families in the district. This includes meetings between students and counselors, additional resources for teachers, and a Crisis Response Team that meets regularly

Therapy dogs will be in place at both Newtown Middle School and Sol Feinstone Elementary School over the coming week, as well as additional counselors from the Keystone Crisis Intervention Team.

Authorities had previously stated that the original charges of attempted murder against Nguyen would be upgraded to murder once the boys passed away.
