2nd Commercial Airline To Fly Out Of Trenton-Mercer Airport

Local travelers who use the nearby Trenton-Mercer airport will soon have another option for commercial flights.

Local travelers who use the nearby Trenton-Mercer airport will soon have another option for commercial flights.

Allegiant Air will begin service to select Florida cities from the local airport, located off Rt. 95 in Mercer County just over the Pennsylvania border with New Jersey. The airline will join Frontier, which currently services the Trenton-Mercer airport.

Customers can take advantage of special introductory fares starting at $46 for a one-way ticket by visiting allegiantair.com.

According to the airline's website, the following cities will be serviced from Trenton: Daytona Beach; Orlando; Fort Myers; St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay.

"We're very excited to bring Allegiant's ultra-low cost flights to the Trenton area," Lukas Johnson, vice president of network and pricing, told NJ.com. "We know that local travelers will enjoy spending less to fly nonstop to three of Florida's best vacation destinations."
