Light snow Tuesday gives way to 2 more chances of winter weather later in the week through the weekend, forecasters say.

Rejoice, ye lovers of winter: There are three chances of snow in the current forecast.

Some light snow is expected Tuesday, forecasters are watching another system that could bring additional accumulation on Friday, and a Super Bowl snow event — while uncertain — is possible.

As previously reported, the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for "light" snowfall on Tuesday. Minor travel impacts are expected for a majority of the region, the NWS said.

Don't panic (yet). Just an inch or so is likely to accumulate.

But another system shaping up later in the week could also cause travel impacts.

There is a potential for rain to change to snow Thursday into Friday. As is the case when the potential storm is a few days out, snowfall amounts and impacts are "highly uncertain" at this time, the NWS said.

"The storm may spread wintry weather over a large area from the lower Midwest states to the Northeast," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson said in a news release.

Predictions in terms of timing and accumulation are not yet available. More on that to come.
