3 Chances Of Snow In This Week's Forecast For Philly Area

The weekend snowstorm could be just the beginning for winter weather this week. The National Weather Service says there are three chances for snow this week, and a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued.

According to the NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook issued across the Philadelphia region, some light snow or mixed precipitation late Monday into early Tuesday could cause hazardous travel conditions Tuesday morning.

And it's not the only time snow is possible in the next few days: There is a chance of snow Thursday and Friday.

Accuweather predicts little to no accumulation in the Philadelphia area on Tuesday, but some roads could be slick.

Once the clipper storm passes, residents should expect some of the coldest air so far of the season to make its way to the area. "The cold will trigger more lake-effect snow and may also pave the way for another clipper, albeit much weaker, to move through the Northeast late in the week,"Accweather said.

Here is the forecast:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 40. West wind 3 to 7 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of rain after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 31. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: A chance of rain, mainly between 7am and 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. Southeast wind 8 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of snow before 7pm, then a slight chance of snow showers between 7pm and 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. West wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 31. West wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 17.

Thursday: A chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 32. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20.

Friday: A chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 36. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
