It may be the middle of summer but there are hints around town that students will be back to school before you know it.
Here are four signs that you'll be trading time at the pool for a day at school soon:
1. Retailers have swapped beach bags for backpacks: The Gap has a fill display of backpacks filling their racks, where swim suits once took center stage.
2. School supplies are for sale: Local grocery stores, including Acme, have begun showcasing a back-to-school display of pencils, pens, notebooks and more.
3. The countdown to pumpkin ice cream is on: Shady Brook Farm has started the countdown to pumpkin ice cream. As of Wednesday, there are 33 days left until the fall treat is ready to eat. Pumpkins are a sign of fall and fall is when school starts.
4. It's August: Which means the next month is September. And we all know what happens in September.
