5 Drivers Arrested On Suspected DUI, Drug Charges In Newtown Township
The Newtown Township Police Department made the following arrests between April 5 and April 11.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following arrests between April 5 and April 11.
April 5
At approximately 11:42 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford truck driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Swamp Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

April 6
At approximately 11:39 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Kia sedan driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Barclay Street and Winchester Lane. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

April 8
At approximately 2:02 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda sedan driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Martin Court and Fountain Farm Lane. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as
evidence and the driver was arrested.
April 11
At approximately 10:09 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a GMC driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as
evidence and a male passenger was arrested in connection.
At approximately 10:16 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda sedan driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham Road and Pineville Road in Wrightstown. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for
suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
