8th Congressional District Primary Results

Democrat Steve Santarsiero will match up against Republican Brian Fitzpatrick in November's election to represent Bucks County in congress.

Santarsiero beat Shaughnessy Naughton in Tuesday's Democratic primary for the 8th congressional district. Santarsiero, a Lower Makefield resident, received 50,367 votes to Naughton's 33,810. The race was marred by negative campaign ads and accusations between campaigns.

Naughton, who lost the 2014 primary to Kevin Strouse, told the Bucks County Courier Times she plans to quit politics.

In the Republican primary for the 8th district, Fitzpatrick, the brother of current Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick, was the winner, beating Marc Duome and Andy Warren. Fitzpatrick is a Middletown Township resident.
