Acme Proposal To Sell Beer At Newtown Store To Be Considered Wednesday

Acme's request to open a Frosted Mug cafe at its Newtown store will be up for consideration in front of the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors during a meeting Wednesday.

The supervisors will consider a liquor license transfer, according to the agenda for Wednesday's meeting. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the township building. Click here to view the full meeting agenda.

The Frosted Mug cafe exists in several Acme locations. It serves beer and food.

According to the proposal, Acme wants to renovate the interior of the existing store to add a 30-seat restaurant that will serve prepared food and beer for on-premises consumption, township officials tell Patch.

The liquor license transfer approval was originally scheduled for a Newtown Township Supervisors meeting in May but was rescheduled until June.

Acme stores with Frosted Mug cafes currently include the following Pennsylvania locations, among others: Doylestown, Flourtown, Devon, Granite Run and Concordville.
