Acme Proposes Selling Beer At Newtown Location

It's a cafe that Acme has in several of its locations that serves beer and food. The supermarket chain is looking to open one at its Newtown store.

Acme has submitted an application to the township to open a Frosted Mug cafe at the location on West Road.

According to the proposal, Acme wants to renovate the interior of the existing store to add a 30-seat restaurant that will serve prepared food and beer for on-premises consumption, township officials tell Patch.

The liquor license transfer approval was originally scheduled for a Newtown Township Supervisors meeting Wednesday but it has since been postponed until June.

Acme stores with Frosted Mug cafes currently include the following Pennsylvania locations, among others: Doylestown, Flourtown, Devon, Granite Run and Concordville.
