Alex's Lemonade Stand In Newtown Inspired By 5th Grade Girl With Cancer
The stand to support children with cancer will be hosted by Shir Ami on Sunday, May 3, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Maya Rigler, a local 5th grader, is battling cancer.
At the age of two, she was diagnosed with a type of kidney cancer called a Wilms tumor.
She was cured a year later. Then tragedy struck again last January when she was diagnosed with an improbable second tumor, apparently unrelated.

Instead of accepting gifts from others, Rigler wanted all donations to go towards “ensuring no other kid gets cancer again.”
On Sunday, May 3, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Alex’s Lemonade Stand will help her with that struggle.

The stand will be hosted at the reform Jewish community Shir Ami on Richboro Road.
