NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Friends of the family whose home was destroyed by fire on Thursday in Newtown Township have launched a GoFundMe page to help the family get back on its feet.
"The family lost everything they had in that home," writes Sarah Mathis, a friend of the family, who said the parents built the house in the 90s and have raised their family there.
"Along with their belongings, they lost all of their childhood memories," relates Mathis. "So I am asking for donations to help them start rebuilding and healing. Anything helps."

Firefighters from 15 companies mounted an aggressive interior attack, battling the flames with hose lines and master streams before placing it under control at 3:38 p.m.
One firefighter was transported to St. Mary Medical Center for a leg injury; no other injuries were reported.
Newtown Fire Rescue and the Newtown Township Police Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
