Firefighters Battle Roaring House Fire In Newtown Township

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters battling a roaring house fire Thursday afternoon on Tall Oaks Lane were forced to evacuate at one point when conditions inside the house deteriorated.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 2 p.m. for a two-story single-family home with fire showing from the roof.

Under the command of Newtown Fire Rescue, firefighters from throughout the area mounted an aggressive interior and exterior attack, battling the flames with hose lines and master streams.

At one point, firefighters working inside the building were ordered to evacuate when conditions deteriorated.

The fire forced the closure of a busy section of Route 532 between Stoopville Road and Linton Hill Road for several hours.

Patch will be updating this story as more details become available.
