The Angel Tree Is Back In Newtown, Here's How You Can Help
Help make the holiday brighter for your neighbors in Newtown by participating in the Angel Tree. Here is how you can participate:

The Angel Tree Project is back for Christmas 2017.
The project, coordinated by Council Rock School District nurses and and Newtown resident Paul Salvatore, helps to grant holiday "wishes" for local families in need. The wishes— or gift requests—of local children and their families are placed on a tag that looks like an angel. Those tags are hung on Christmas trees, which are located at the Newtown Post Office and the Northampton Township Library.
To help, simply pick up a tag at the Newtown Post Office or Northampton Library and purchase the requested item. In the past, gifts have ranged from toys to clothing and small appliances like a toaster.

The families are not identified by name for the purposes of confidentiality. There's a number on the tag that identifies the recipient. Families involved in the program are selected based on their participation in the school lunch program, according to organizers.
Gifts, which should be wrapped and include the original tag, can be returned back to the location where the tag was selected.

This year, the gifts should be returned by Dec. 15.
