Another Armed Robbery Reported In Newtown, This Time At Rite Aid
Breaking: It is the second robbery in five days in normally quiet Newtown.

Another robbery was reported Monday in Newtown Township. This time, it was at the Rite Aid.
The robbery is the second in five days in normally quiet Newtown. The suspect in both incidents have a similar description although police have not said if the two are related.
Police said they were dispatched to the Rite Aid for a report of an armed robbery around 5:30 a.m. The caller said no weapon was displayed but the suspect did gesture as if he had a weapon and kept his hands in his pockets most of the time, according to information from police.

The suspect walked into the store and immediately went to an employee and demanded the cash from the register, police said. The employee complied.
Police said upon receiving cash, the suspect fled the store and crossed Sycamore Street on foot. A K-9 track was conducted with the assistance of the Middletown Township Police Department, but the suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as a white male, estimated to be his 20s, thin build, approximately 6 foot tall, wearing a black nylon hoodie, dark knit ski mask, gloves, dark sweat pants and white sneakers.
On Thursday, an armed robbery at the nearby 7-Eleven was reported. That robbery happened at about 2:25 a.m.
The suspect in that case has a similar description. He was also estimated to be his 20s and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, ski mask, work-type gloves, navy blue pants with a white stripe and white sneakers.
Both crimes are under investigation.
The Newtown Township Police Department declined to comment on whether the Rite Aid robbery was believed to be connected to the 7-Eleven robbery.
