Another Storm Moving In, Flood Watch Issued In Eastern PA

More rain is on the way. Find out when the worst will hit, and how much you can expect:

Another storm is moving in, causing the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Watch due to the potential for heavy rain Thursday night into Friday. The Flood Watch is in effect for the entire Philadelphia region, including in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

Starting Thursday and going through Friday, expect as much as two inches of rain. Totals could be higher in some areas, the NWS warns.

Sensitive streams and creeks will susceptible to flooding, and some river flooding could even occur. The ground is already heavily saturated due to heavy rains over the past months and weeks, forecasters said.

"Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop," the NWS said.

Holiday travelers may also encounter issues at major airports on the East Coast due to the storm.

"The major airport hubs of Atlanta; Charlotte, North Carolina; Washington, D.C.; New York City and Boston may also be impacted by delays due to rain, a low cloud ceiling and/or a gusty wind at times," AccuWeather forecasters said in a news release.

As far as the New Year's Eve forecast, expect rain and a high near 49. New Year's Day will be partly sunny, with a high in the mid 50s.

Thursday night: Rain, mainly after 1am. Low around 37. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday: Rain. High near 58. Southwest wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Friday Night: A chance of rain before 7pm, then a slight chance of showers between 7pm and 1am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 47. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33.

Monday: Rain likely after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Monday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

New Year's Day: Partly sunny, with a high near 54.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 38.
