Borough's Annual Arbor Day Celebration is Friday
Newtown Borough will receive a Tree City USA award from the National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters during an annual event Friday.

Newtown Borough’s annual Arbor Day celebration will take place this Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at Brian S. Gregg Memorial Park, 30 N. Chancellor St.
The event, which is opened to the public, is organized by the Newtown Borough Rec Board.
Goodnoe Elementary School first and fifth graders will attend the event, as well as local preschools. Newtown Borough will receive a Tree City USA award from the National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters.

The program includes musician Richard McLaughlin, known as Eco-Man, who will provide an interactive music program that teaches children about the importance of caring for the environment.
Community organizations, including Tyler State Park, Snipes Farm and the Council Rock North Green Team, will offer activities related to trees.
