The event, titled "Afternoon In The Garden", aims to bring together families, friends, and neighbors to hear Dr. Tallamy discuss how our own gardens can help save the planet and support biodiversity. Proceeds of the afternoon will support resident programming at Friends Village, a uniquely small and kind community for older adults in Newtown. A 501(c)3 Quaker, non-profit organization, Friends Village seeks to be a community resource for healthy and active aging with programming such as our free Senior Planet technology classes. Every ticket sold will play a vital role in supporting the community's initiatives and fostering a vibrant and sustainable future for both Friends Village and our world. Serving more than sixty residents on two campuses in Newtown, Friends Village has continued this mission for more than 125 years. Ticket prices include the presentation, refreshments and exhibits.
