Award-Winning Actor To Perform At Council Rock Benefit Event
Tony Award-winning actor Richard Kind will be in Newtown this month for an event to benefit the Council Rock Education Foundation.

An Evening with Richard Kind
For one night only, get up close and personal with Bucks County’s own legendary award winning actor Richard Kind, for a one-of-a-KIND performance of stories and anecdotes on Friday, November 10. In celebration of the Council Rock Education Foundation’s ten year anniversary, Kind is dedicating all event proceeds to help fund creative educational projects for kids throughout the area.
“Expanding a child’s imagination and creativity helps to develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills,” Kind says. “The Council Rock Education Foundation promotes that out-of-the-box thinking every day for our kids which is vital to learning and self-expression.”
In 2013, Kind was nominated for a Tony Award for a dramatic role in THE BIG KNIFE. Although most viewers know Richard’s face from his comedic work in such series as Mad About You, Spin City, and Curb Your Enthusiasm, millions now know his voice as well, thanks to portraying Bing Bong in Pixar’s Inside Out. For the time being, Kind is back in front of the camera, revisiting the ’80s in the new series Red Oaks, the third season of which is now available for viewing via Amazon Prime.

“We are so honored to have Richard perform this special benefit to mark our ten year anniversary,” says Gail Acosta, Executive Director of the Council Rock Education Foundation, a non-profit 501C3 organization that supports K-12 education. “Since 2007, the Foundation, with help from many donors, has awarded more than $215,000 towards innovative and experiential learning projects for kids throughout the Council Rock School District.”
Richard, born in Trenton and a graduate of Pennsbury High School in Fairless Hills, studied pre-law at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, but took a year off before going to law school to try his hand at acting. A member of Second City's Chicago and L.A. troupes, he worked in the theater for ten years before getting his break on television. It didn’t take him long for to start popping up in a variety of roles in movies and on television.
