BCCC Raises Over $17k For Salute To Mothers Scholarship
For nine years, the Salute to Mothers Scholarship has helped moms attend classes at the college.

It can be tough for women raising children to get a higher education. That's why Bucks County Community College has the Salute to Mothers scholarship, which recently had over $17,000 raised to support its efforts to get mothers in the classroom.
The Bucks County Community College Foundation raised the money at its ninth annual Women's Scholarship Tea on Oct. 6 at the Newtown campus.
This year, 16 women earned the Salute to Mothers scholarship, with Sharlyn Quinones of Croydon being one of them.

"While attending Bucks County Community College many doors have been opened for me," said Quinones. "I’m involved in events and organizations that I never thought possible."
Quinones thanked the foundation on behalf of the 15 other recipients, telling the foundation dreams come true due to the effort by the foundation and the scholarship.

In its ninth year, the scholarship has been award to 103 women.
“Fear can’t stop us from doing what we are meant to do,” Keynote Kelly Schaefer, CEO and Founder of Task Complete, a personal assistance and concierge service company, said.
Schaefer – who is a mother of four, Registered Nurse, and best-selling author – added that her life changed once she began saying “yes” to opportunities and she urged the crowd to do the same.
Over 75 people attended the Women's Scholarship Tea, including local business support from Customers Bank, Shelly Law Offices, and The First National Bank and Trust Company of Newtown. In addition, donations were provided by CulinArt, David J. Witchell Salon & Spa, Harbour Linen Service, Italian People’s Bakery, Laurie’s Chocolates, Maryanne Pastry Shoppe, McCaffrey’s of Yardley, Mt. Fuji Hibachi & Asian Bistro, Specialty Ring Products, and Wegmans of Warrington.
