Be Prepared for Snow to Impact School Schedule Friday, Council Rock Officials Warn
Forecasters are predicting as much as five inches of snow Friday, the first day of spring.

As forecasters continue to up the probability for snow accumulation Friday, Council Rock School District is warning parents to be prepared for the possibility of an early dismissal or even closure.
“The forecast for tomorrow is increasingly concerning. Snow totals are slowly rising and while the road surfaces may be warm enough to mitigate the snowfall, slight changes in temperature or snow totals could be very problematic,” school officials said in an email.
The email advises parents to be aware that tomorrow’s snowfall could impact school schedules. “Please make preparations, today, for the potential of an early school dismissal on Friday,” the email.

The Council Rock North Junior Prom will be still be held on Friday evening, school officials said. The decision to conduct other after school and evening activities will be made once the weather conditions become clear.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the region that begins Friday at 6 a.m. Forecasters with the Weather Channel are predicting as much as five inches of snow in Bucks County by nightfall.

According to the NWS, snow will start Friday morning and continue through the afternoon before becoming a wintry mix and then changing to rain. The Weather Channel says snow will begin as a light shower as early as 6 a.m. and become heavier as the morning progresses.
