Bestselling 'Captain Underpants' Children's Author Holding Event In Newtown

The bestselling children's author known for his "Captain Underpants" series will be in Newtown later this month for a public event.

Dav Pilkey will be at Newtown Elementary School on September 22 at 7 p.m. for an evening of fun and a book signing.

"Dav will be featuring "Dog Man", a new graphic novel adventure series. This will be an evening of family fun with a presentation from Dav Pilkey followed by a book signing. We will have lots of give-aways, in addition to the opportunity to have photos taken with the Dog Man and Captain Underpants inflatable costumed characters," according to an announcement from the Newtown Bookshop, which is coordinating the event.

Seating is limited and registration is required. The cost for a ticket is $12, and includes a copy of "Dog Man."

The cost per family is $14, and includes one copy of the book. While only books sold from the Newtown Bookshop will be signed, you can learn more about the famous series here.

Newtown Elementary School is located at 1 Wrights Road, Newtown.
