Both Council Rock High Schools Make New U.S. News Ranking

NEWTOWN, PA — Both Council Rock North and Council Rock South were ranked among the top 100 high schools in the Philadelphia metro area in a new analysis by U.S. News.

The best high schools by metro area rankings, released on Wednesday, analyze how schools compare to each other in the same region. Council Rock North was ranked 35th and Council Rock South was ranked 53rd.

The Philadelphia metro statistical area includes parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.

The highest-ranked high school in Bucks County in the newly released list was New Hope-Solebury, which came in 9th. It was followed by Central Bucks High School East, which came in 12th. Central Bucks High School West was next, coming in 16.

The analysis of the Philadelphia metro area schools is separate from the publication's annual ranking of the best high schools in the country, which was published in April. In that ranking, Council Rock North was ranked 51st in Pennsylvania and Council Rock South was ranked 93rd in the state.

U.S. News says it used the same methodology to compile the metro-area rankings as it did for the national rankings. Metros areas were matched to their corresponding core-based statistical areas as defined by the government. The U.S. Census Bureau says metro areas and micropolitan areas (which have a population of between 10,000 and 50,000) are collectively referred to as core-based statistical areas.)
