Madison K. Reviews Aquolina Eau de Toilette (Pink Sugar!) for BLC

BLC's Beauty and Fashion Editor, Madison K. reviews one of her favorite fragrances, Pink Sugar!

Check out the latest blog post and product review from Madison K., Beauty Land Couture's (BLC) own Beauty and Fashion Editor. Madison K. is an avatar of BLC created by Nina Kaplan, a successful fashion, home design and beauty product entrepreneur, who has run several businesses in Newtown over the last 20 years.

Kaplan launched her latest business, BLC, in 2010 also in Newtown and created the Madison K. character based on her experience in the beauty and fashion business and in raising her now 19-year-old daughter. Madison K. represents the little girl in every woman and is as flawed as she is fabulous. Every week, Madison honestly reviews BLC products and shares tidbits of her life working for BLC and having fun with her 2 BFFs, Kia and Jade. Here Madison talks about one of her favorite fragrances that she and her dog Zsa Zsa (who she refers to as her baby) absolutely love.... Enjoy and remember to check back for new Madison K. posts at www.beautylandcouture.com/blog.

You know how Zsa Zsa and I feel about fragrances. We can’t get enough of them. I think in some past life, I must have been a Bloodhound as I do have a crazy sense of smell! Zsa and I also know that there are others out there like us with very sensitive noses, so we never want to over do it or over take the air in the room when we walk in. Especially today.

Yes, today is a V.I.D. (Very Important Day) as I have a very big meeting with Nina and some of the very big wigs who just happen to be potential BLC investors. I am very excited but also a bit nervous. This job means everything to me, and I need to make a lasting impression. I know Nina is expecting great things from me, and to tell you the truth, I am too. I just have to keep telling myself to get past the nerves and to focus.

Nina is so passionate about what she does, the people she hires, and the products she carries. I can certainly relate and aspire to that. I want her to see that I share her vision and prove that I can help her take BLC to the next level.

Its all good Mads, I say to myself, but one step at a time. Lets just get ready. Big meeting fragrance; what will it be? I am thinking Aquolina’s Eau de Toilette (EDT that is) in Pink Sugar of course. This is one of my absolute favorites! I have loved it for what seems like forever. It’s definitely a top ten and is always on my product dresser. It has been on Madison’s Favorites list forever. I even once gave an old boyfriend an Eagles blanket sprayed with my Pink Sugar to remind him of me. Eventually, we broke up. In hindsight, that little present may not have been the best idea.

I put the bottle right up to my nose, and the scent takes me back to my childhood. I am suddenly twelve years old again, eating cotton candy on the boardwalk at the beach with Kia and Jade. We are giggling about something, and feeling like we were all that. LOL All that from this little bottle, I think to myself.

It’s cotton candy, sugar and all things sweet but not too much of it. I mean I wouldn’t want Nina and the team to think the carnival pulled into town when I step into the office. It has just enough of a sweet scent to make any one of us feel young at heart, but still muted enough to give me the confidence I need for my big day. And a bottle of Pink Sugar is $29. I say well worth it!

As I spray three times in front of me and then step into the fragrant air - one of my favorite tricks to make sure my scent is never too strong - I imagine myself at BLC HQ (headquarters that is!) in the big wig meeting – clearly and articulating the vision that Nina and I share for BLC. I know I can do it, and I keeping putting that positive energy out there all day.

With my Pink Sugar on, I kiss Zsa Zsa goodbye, and I know she loves my scent. It’s off to work I go! And as I walk out the door, I remember … It’s all about the fun…

XOXXO,

MADISON K.
