Natural Allergy Alternatives

A discussion regarding some natural allergy relief methods.

Most people struggle with allergies in the spring time when many of the beautiful flowers and trees start to bloom, the rest of us continue to suffer throughout the summertime and well into the fall.  In fact, more than 50 million Americans suffer from some type of allergies.  Over 36 million suffer from the seasonal allergies alone.    This explains a lot of the reason we have whole aisles in the grocery stores and drugstores that are dedicated to allergy relief.  For those who are looking for a more natural way to fight the allergy fight, I Can recommend some great natural alternatives for you.

First and foremost is Chiropractic.  No matter what allergy you suffer from, but your body is triggered to respond for a single reason, it’s the fact that your immune system is unable to tell the difference between the harmful and the friendly.  It’s not always the allergens’ (dust or pollen) fault.  Subluxations (spinal misalignments) can also play a part with interfering with the messages between your brain and your immune system which will result in improper immune responses.

Chiropractic patients of all ages have successfully been able to cope with allergies by seeing a chiropractor to correct the subluxations.  These adjustments will help ensure our nervous system is free from interference and allow your body to function properly so it can recognize what is harmful and what is not.  This is the perfect time of year to consider chiropractic to help relieve allergies due to the fact that the longer daylight hours and warmer weather beckon to us to engage in more outdoor activities which can lead to misalignments.  In addition don’t forget that when you’re outside you’re exposed to all the pollen blowing around with those gorgeous summer breezes.

Chiropractic doesn’t ever focus on treating symptoms, but instead focuses on the root of the problem, which allows your body to fight off disease and sickness better.  In other words, a natural, and sometimes a less expensive way to deal with allergies.

If chiropractic isn’t your thing, no need to worry, there is a great natural remedy for allergies as well.  D-Hist,  by Ortho-Molecular products has been working miracles with my patients this Spring and Summer!!!  They have all been giving it rave reviews!!!

D-Hist is an all-natural supplement that offers support from seasonal allergies.   It contains a combination of natural ingredients including Quercitin, Stinging Nettles, N-Acetyl Cysteine and Bromelain.   Quercitin helps prevent the release of histamine, one of the major triggers to the overall allergic response.  Stinging Nettles is effective relief for hay fever.  N-Acetyl Cysteine breaks down the disulphide bonds making mucous less viscous. Bromelain has approved status by the German commission for micro inflammations (allergic reactions, localized internal infections).  It also assists in decreasing the mucous viscosity as well as some antibiotic activity.  In addition there are very few contra-indications which makes it a very real alternative relief  for a large number of allergy sufferers.    It’s even available as a kid formula as well!  Be sure to check with your provider if you have any specific concerns.  If you’re interested in purchasing this product, you should be able to purchase it from a natural health care provider  such as  a chiropractor, but some alternative medical Doctors are now starting to carry these natural type products as they too are starting to see the benefits.

Feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions regarding allergies, D-Hist products, or if you’d like to schedule a visit!!
