Broadway Review: "Freestyle Love Supreme"
Wondering if "Freestyle Love Supreme" is worth the trip to NYC? Read my honest review right here:

I recently was able to take a weekend trip to New York City and I couldn't have a proper NYC trip without going to see a show on Broadway. One of those shows in particular was "Freestyle Love Supreme" an hip-hop, improv comedy show created by Hamilton creator Lin Manuel-Miranda, Thomas Kail and Anthony Veneziale. The show is based on the popular 2015 Pivot TV show of the same name where the crew use audience words and stories to create improved raps and musical numbers.
The show's cast is made of up some of the original FLS crew members such as Arthur Lewis, Christopher Jackson, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Chris Sullivan along with new crew members such as Andrew Bancroft, Aneesa Folds and Kaila Mullady. The show also features surprise appearances from celebrities such as Wayne Brady, Bill Sherman, Daveed Diggs and more.
I was lucky enough to get rush tickets to the show and by rush tickets I am talking about going to the box office the day of show and hoping that they have some tickets available so that you are able to see the show. Me and my family were able to get partial view orchestra seating which was not a problem at all as we had a clear and perfect view of the stage and the performers. The stage itself is pretty simple with a FLS logo shining bright in the back along with chairs and 2 musical instruments.

The one unique thing about Freestyle Love Supreme is that they dub themselves a "phone free show" meaning that all phones, smartwatches and electronics had to be kept in a Yondu pouch throughout the show until it was unlocked after the show. They do this to "Keep the show and the guests a surprise" because the show itself is run 100% on audience participation and the words and stories are different every night so every night is a different show and if you go back and see it over and over again, you will be treated with a new show with new cast members and new special guests.
The show overall was a funny and fun experience that has not been done on Broadway before and for someone who has seen many Broadway musicals, Freestyle Love Supreme did not disappoint at all. It is perfect for families, date night or just going out with friends. If you need a good show on Broadway that will put you in a good mood and that won't leave you sitting there bored, Freestyle Love Supreme is the show to attend.
