Bucks Co. Assault Victim, 14, Had Been Shot, Stabbed: DA

A Bucks County teen who was the victim of a 'vicious' assault Friday had been shot and stabbed in her home, the DA has confirmed.

A Bucks County 14-year-old who police said was the victim of a "vicious assault" Friday had been shot and stabbed in her Bristol Township home, the Bucks County District Attorney has confirmed. The girl's 19-year-old male cousin, who lived with her, was found in Bensalem with a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after the assault, authorities said.

Bucks County Detectives and local police continue to investigate the incident, which happened Friday evening in the Croydon section of Bristol Township. The girl is in critical condition at St. Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia.

Authorities said her cousin, who had shot himself in the throat, was taken to Jefferson Hospital Philadelphia, where he was most recently listed in stable condition.

The girl's parents returned to their home on Sycamore Avenue shortly after 6:30 p.m. to find their daughter injured, police said. The 19-year-old, who is the nephew of the parents, was missing when the couple came home. He later was found on State Road in Bensalem, suffering from the gunshot wound, police said.

Police are asking for the public's help with information, including any video surveillance photos from that area of Croydon. Anyone with footage of a white male, about 5'7" tall, weighing 150 pounds, making his way through the neighborhood toward State Road between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. is asked to contact Bristol Township Police at 215-788-8289.
