The call comes as town halls across the nation have become heated with constituents raising concerns about health care and immigration.

Only constituents from PA-08 will be called or allowed to participate.

"This will actually Brian’s second tele-town hall in the under two months he’s been in Congress. The first one was really successful (we reached out to 60,000) constituents at once and we expect tonight’s to be even larger. In a district of 700,000+, it’s important to connect with as many constituents as possible – especially with so much happening," Fitzpatrick's spokesman Aaron Clark wrote in an email to Patch.

Clark did not elaborate when asked why a telephone town hall was chosen for Bucks County instead of an in-person town hall.

The call comes amid growing dissent at town hall meetings nationwide.

On Tuesday, Republican Sen. Pat Toomey was a no-show at town hall organized by constituents in Allentown, so they stood an empty suit at the front of the room and aired their concerns about healthcare and President Trump's cabinet picks, according to multiple reports.

An in New Jersey, thousands of residents came out to voice their concerns about President Trump at Congressman Leonard Lance's Town Hall on Wednesday night, filling the room inside Raritan Valley Community College and extending into the spill over room. It was the largest attendance Lance said he has ever had at a town hall meeting.
