Bucks County Man Arrested At Newark Airport: Port Authority Police

The Morrisville man is facing a weapon charge, officials said.

Updated 10:55 a.m.: A Morrisville, Bucks County man was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport, Port Authority officials said Tuesday.

Christopher Brown, 30, of Morrisville, was arrested Monday after security officers found a loaded .40 caliber pistol in the Brown's backpack, Port Authority officials said.

The semi-automatic Glock-23 handgun was in Brown's carry-on items as he entered one of the airport checkpoints, officials said.

The checkpoint's X-ray machine detected the handgun, which led Port Authority police to be notified, officials said.

Officials then closed the checkpoint lane until the Port Authority Police arrived.

When police showed up, the gun was confiscated and Brown was arrested on an unlawful possession of a weapon charge, officials said.
