A long-time Solebury police officer is charged with theft after authorities say he took a tool from a Windy Bush Road construction site.

A long-time Solebury police officer has been charged with theft after authorities say he took a tool from a local construction site, the Intelligencer reported.
Roy G. Ferrari, 66, has been charged with numerous misdemeanors in connection with an incident in July in which he allegedly took a $25 carpenter’s level from a construction site on Windy Bush Road, the report said.
The report published specifics of a probable cause affidavit, which indicates Ferrari was allegedly caught on camera taking the tool and then later denied it.

The police department has not commented on the issue but did release the following statement to the Intelligencer:
“The Solebury Township Police Department and the township administration take a zero tolerance stance toward any misconduct involving our officers. By handling this investigation swiftly and properly, we hope to ensure the general public that we do not condone the alleged behavior and it will not be tolerated at any level. We will always hold our officers to the highest of standards to maintain trust and accountability within the community that we serve.”
