Bucks County Resident Named 'Applebee's Manager Of The Year'

Doylestown resident Jackie Mokychic manages Applebee's restaurants in Newtown and Thorndale for The Rose Group.

NEWTOWN, PA — Jackie Mokychic of Doylestown, who manages Applebee's restaurants in Newtown and Thorndale for The Rose Group, was recently recognized with a senior leadership award during Applebee's 2023 Franchise Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mokychic and two of her colleagues with The Rose Group, a restaurant management company based in Newtown that owns and operates 49 Applebee’s Grill + Bars in eastern Pennsylvania, Mercer County, New Jersey, greater Baltimore and the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware, took home top awards at the conference.

Mokychic was recognized as Applebee's General Manager of the Year.

As a managing partner for the last eight years and training general manager, she oversees two restaurants in Newtown and Thorndale and is one of the district bar council leaders. Her talent for developing people has led her team to achieve a record of 6 SPA Champions in a row which measures a 90 percent or above score in various service inspection points, according to The Rose Group.

"Not only does her operations excellence stand out but she is a strong developer of team members and managers and is fully invested and dedicated to striving to be the best in all aspects of the business," said The Rose Group in a press release. "Jackie is also a dedicated community member and is actively involved in making an impact in her neighborhood."

Todd Cummings from Feasterville took home The Above Restaurant Leadership Award and was recognized for his contribution to not just The Rose Group as an area director overseeing eight Applebee’s, but brand leadership for the new GIFT Program, the Guest Information Feedback Tool. Todd was a huge part in implementing the new program in the Applebee’s system.

"Cummings represents the top one percent of all Applebee’s above restaurant leaders in the country," said The Rose Group. "His commitment to operational excellence leads his team to consistently excel in high-volume environments with exceptional results. He has a passion for developing his people, mentoring countless managers and team members in his 20+ year career."

The Operator of the Year Award was presented to Bonnie Lippencot from Dover, PA for the sixth time in 16 years, five out of the last nine. The first time she received the award was in 2007 and then again in 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021 and now in 2023 for her dedication to operations excellence in all areas. Her commitment to building and maintaining a successful team starts with her senior operations team led by Harry Karopoulos and Tom Lowe, according to The Rose Group. "They consistently provide strong leadership and elevate others to achieve results."

Bill Reed, also from Feasterville, and Jackie Mokychic were both awarded The Golden Apple Club Award. They were recognized for being in the top one percent of all general managers in the country.

This is the fourth time both individuals were recognized as being top leaders within the Applebee’s system.

The Rose Group was also recognized as Technology Partner of the Year. The award was presented for the second time since 2018 recognizing The Rose Group' IT team for their leadership in the Applebee’s system.
