Bucks Firefighters "Charging Into Fire Safety" With Free Events

This year's fire prevention theme focuses on reducing lithium-ion battery fires caused by everyday devices such as cell phones.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County firefighters this week will be spreading a fire prevention message during open house events at stations throughout the county.

This year's Fire Prevention theme is "Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower," which focuses on reducing lithium-ion battery fires caused by everyday devices like phones, laptops, e-bikes, scooters, and power tools.

Open house events will be taking place at fire stations throughout the county with an opportunity to learn more about fire prevention.

Central Bucks Fire Prevention Expo

Bucks County residents will have a chance to meet local first responders and learn about fire safety at the Central Bucks Fire Prevention Expo on Saturday, Oct. 10. The free event is scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. at Central Park, 425 Wells Road, Doylestown. The expo will include fire and emergency apparatus, demonstrations, family activities, fire prevention education, and an opportunity to meet local first responders. Organizers said the event is designed as a community-focused afternoon centered on public safety.

Linghocken Fire Company

The public is invited to a free Pizza & Prevention event on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Station 35 in Wycombe. The evening will feature free pizza and Polly's Ice Cream, multiple live fire demonstrations, giveaways, fire safety tips, and a chance to meet the police officers, EMS personnel, and firefighters serving the area. The station is located at 1090 Washington Avenue in Wycombe.

Northampton Township Fire Department

The Northampton Township Fire Department will hold a free Fire Safety Day on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Station 3 in Richboro. The day will feature fire safety demonstrations, smoke alarm safety, free hands-on activities, giveaways, a chance to climb aboard a fire truck, and to meet the men and women who protect the community from fire.

Perkasie Fire Company No. 1

The Perkasie Fire Company No. 1 will hold its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be free hot dogs, birch beer and fire safety fun for kids. The company is located at 100 North 5th Street, Perkasie 18944.

Upper Makefield Volunteer Fire Co.

The Upper Makefield Volunteer Fire Company will hold an open house on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at its station, 1221 Taylorsville Road. The special evening of prevention will include free pizza and plenty of fun activities. Joining the firefighters at the event will be members of the Upper Makefield Police Department and Newtown EMS, which serves the township.
