Bucks Goes Blue In Clinton Loss

See how Bucks County voted in other key races.

The presidential election came down to a few states, Pennsylvania being one of them.

Ultimately, Republican Donald Trump emerged the victor nationally and in the Keystone State, taking Democrat Hillary Clinton after a long, intense campaign.

But Bucks County, which was considered a must-win county in Pennsylvania, voted for Clinton over trump, according to Bucks County election results posted on the county's website.

Clinton 48.4 percent of the vote in Bucks County, which is 165,861 votes, according to the county website. Trump earned 47.8 percent of the vote with 163,873 total votes in the county.

According to the website, Libertarian Gary Johnson earned 2.5 percent (8,500); Green Party candidate Jill Stein earned 0.9 percent (3,138) and Constitution party candidate Darrel Castle got just 0.4 percent (1,200).

Senatorial Race

Bucks County voters chose to re-elect Republican Pat Toomey to his seat in the Senate over challenger Democrat Katie McGinty.

Toomey earned 51.9 percent of the Bucks County vote while McGinty got 46.4 percent, according to the county's website.

That translates to 175,719 votes for Toomey and 156,989 for McGinty.

Libertarian candidate Edward Clifton III got 5,846 – 1.7 percent – votes.

Toomey defeated McGinty overall in the state.

Congressional Race

After a heated campaign, Republican Brian Fitzpatrick overcame Democrat Steve Santarsiero to take on duties left by Fitzpatrick's brother, Mike Fitzpatrick, in the 8th Congressional District.

Fitzpatrick, according to the Bucks County website, brought in 53.8 percent of the vote while District 8 state Rep. Santarsiero garnered 46.2 percent.

Those numbers turn out to be 181,772 votes for Fitzpatrick and 155,807 for Santarsiero.

Attorney General Race

The Bucks County election results website shows the county went in favor of Attorney General elect Josh Shapiro.

Shapiro, a Democrat and Montgomery County Commissioners Chairman, won 50.7 percent of the vote (169,385 votes) while Republican state Sen. John Rafferty won 49.3 percent (164,474 votes).

Auditor General Race

Bucks went against the state trend in the Auditor General race, voting in favor of Republican John Brown over Democrat Eugene DePasquale, who won the race overall.

The county put up 166,963 votes – 50.3 percent – for Brown while DePasquale 153,320 votes, which is 46.1 percent, according to county website.

The Green Party's John Sweeney earned 2 percent of the vote (6,613 votes) and Libertarian Roy Minet earned 1.6 percent (5,327 votes).

State Treasurer Race

Democrat Joe Torsella won Bucks County on his path the State Treasurer victory.

According to the Bucks County election results website, Torsella got 48.9 percent of the vote in Bucks County, which translates to 162,044 votes.

His opponent, Republican Otto Voit, earned 48.1 percent of the vote, which is 159,478 votes.

Libertarian candidate James Babb got 1.5 percent of the vote (5,000 votes) and Green Party candidate Kristin Combs earned 1.4 percent of the vote (4,750 votes).
