Bypass Traffic Light Synchronization Plan on Wednesday's Supervisors Agenda

PennDOT would fund the project and will be reimbursed through a grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission.

The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will consider a plan for adaptive signals on the Newtown Bypass during a meeting Wednesday.

The plan to synchronize the traffic signals on the Bypass was first presented to the Board of Supervisors during a meeting earlier this month.

The plan would improve traffic flow by taking into account the volume of cars traveling on the bypass at one time, according to a report by the Newtown Advance. Lights would stay green when a group of vehicles are driving along the bypass during certain times, the article said.
