Newtown, PA — September 24, 2025 — The Rotary Club of Newtown will dedicate a new Peace Pole on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 4–5 PM at Peaceable Kingdom Park, 199 South Lincoln Ave., Newtown, PA. The community is invited to join this celebration of peace, unity, and shared heritage. The rain date is October 19, 2025.
The Peace Pole, inscribed with “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in eight languages, reflects Newtown’s cultural diversity and continues the borough’s long-standing tradition of peace. It also answers a call from Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick, who has encouraged clubs worldwide to plant Peace Poles as symbols of goodwill.
The program will feature music by local choirs, prayers and reflections from the Newtown Yardley Ministerium representing diverse faith traditions, and a community sing-along. Neighbors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and join in this joyful celebration.
Peace Poles already stand at the Newtown Friends Meetinghouse, Roberts Ridge Park, Council Rock North High School, the United Methodist Church of Newtown, and Chandler Hall. This new installation strengthens Newtown’s place in a global network of communities committed to peace.
“With the addition of this Peace Pole, we honor Newtown’s history while reaffirming our shared commitment to unity,” said Rotary Club 24-25 President Debra Porter. “This is a gift from our club members to every resident and a legacy for the future.”
