The Men’s Den with guest speaker Dr. Mark Woodford

☕ MEN, COFFEE, BAGELS & A CONVERSATION WORTH HAVING!

What does it really mean to be a man? And who decided?

From childhood to adulthood, men are surrounded by expectations. Be strong. Be independent. Don’t show weakness. Have all the answers.

But do those expectations still serve us? And how do they shape who we become as we grow older?

Join us at The Men’s Den at Friends Village for an important, engaging, and thought-provoking coffee hour with Dr. Mark S. Woodford, Professor of Counselor Education at The College of New Jersey.

Male Development: A Bio-Psycho-Social Discussion about Expectations and Identity

Dr. Woodford, whose research explores masculinity, emotional development, and relationships, will lead a conversation about how society’s expectations influence men’s identities, relationships, and sense of self throughout their lives.

This isn’t about telling men how they should be. It’s about exploring who we are, what we’ve learned along the way, and whether some of those old rules deserve a second look.

💬 Why come? Because conversations like these matter. At every age, there is value in questioning expectations, sharing experiences, and discovering that there’s more than one way to be a man.

☕ Coffee? Absolutely.

🥯 Bagels? Of course.

🤝 Good company and meaningful conversation? That’s what The Men’s Den is all about!

Registration is still open!

All men are welcome! Bring your curiosity, your perspective, and perhaps a friend. No lectures about how to be a man—just an opportunity for a conversation we don’t have nearly often enough.
