Calling all "KnitWits:" Applebee's to partner with 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day

During the last Wednesday of every month, the Newtown Applebee’s, located at the Newtown Shopping Center, 2 W. Rd. in Newtown, will host the 67 blankets for Nelson Mandela Day organization. Nelson Mandela devoted 67 years of his life to public service and human rights. 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day is a worldwide initiative to knit/crochet blankets for those in need. The organization is committed to making 670 blankets by July 18, 2016 (Nelson Mandela Day) and will be laying them around the Nelson Mandela statue in Washington DC. Participants are invited to either make a blanket, contribute squares that can be joined into blankets, or donate a ball of yarn, knitting needles or crochet hooks. Come out and become a part of history!
