Car Strikes Dog, Narrowly Misses Pedestrian: Newtown Borough Police
The accident happened late Friday morning at Washington and Lincoln avenues.
NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — A car struck a dog and narrowly missed a pedestrian Friday morning on East Washington Avenue, according to Newtown Borough Police.
At 11:31 a.m., police responded to East Washington and Lincoln avenues for the report of a struck pedestrian and a dog.
When police arrived, it was determined that a car driven by a 75-year-old Yardley man had struck a small dog being walked on a lead by its owner. The pair were attempting to cross Washington Avenue at the time of the accident, police said.

The vehicle narrowly missed the Newtown Borough woman walking her dog, but the dog was struck. The dog received emergency veterinarian care and is expected to fully recover.
Charges are pending against the driver of the vehicle, police said.
