One of the big questions after getting clean and sober is usually, "What do I do for fun?" Softball teams and bowling leagues are great for the athletically inclined, but those with an artistic or musical bent need a different way to bond.
Enter Divine Affliction, a creative co-op that meets regularly at the PRO-ACT Southern Bucks Recovery Community Center in Bristol.
On Saturday, July 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Divine Affliction Arts Collective is holding an art show and exhibition at the center, located in Unit D-6 in the Bristol Office Center, 1286 Veterans Highway in Bristol. Highlights of the event will include the second issue of the group's magazine, Affliction, and the premier of the group's first video, a public service announcement. Many of the artists in the exhibition will be showing their work for the first time. The open-house event will also feature music and refreshments. It's free, and the public is welcome to celebrate with those who are experiencing the joys of finding recovery through creative expression.
