Check And Bank Fraud Incidents Under Investigation In Newtown Township

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Five incidents of fraud are under investigation by the Newtown Township Police Department.

September 23

• A Newtown Township resident contacted police at 2:35 p.m. to report a fraud involving numerous bank accounts being opened with the resident’s personal information. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

September 26

• A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 11:30 p.m. to report a check fraud. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

September 27

• A Newtown Township resident contacted police at approximately 2:15 p.m. to report a check fraud. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

September 28

• A Newtown Township resident contacted police at 2:15 a.m. to report a gift card fraud. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

• Police were dispatched to Citizens Bank on Cambridge Lane at 1:15 p.m. for the report of a fraudulent check. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
