Children's Author To Sign Books At Washington Crossing July 4 Celebration

Deborah Kalb, author of the new children’s book “The President and Me: George Washington and the Magic Hat,” will sign copies during Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Independence Day celebration on July 4.

Kalb will be available to sign copies from noon to 4 p.m. in the Colonial Village area of the park, located at the corner of Rt. 532 and River Road in Washington Crossing, Pa.

Paperback copies of the book will be available for purchase for $12.99.

The book tells the story of a fifth-grade boy who goes back in time to interact with George and Martha Washington while facing present-day dilemmas of school life. This is the first in a series of forthcoming “President and Me” books by Kalb, according to information from Washington Crossing Historic Park.

Kalb co-authored the book “Haunting Legacy: Vietnam and the American Presidency from Ford to Obama.” She is the editor of the new two-volume reference book, “Guide to U.S. Elections,” the co-author of “The Presidents, First Ladies, and Vice Presidents,” and the co-editor of “State of the Union: Presidential Rhetoric from Woodrow Wilson to George W. Bush.”
