Christmas Movie Series Returns To Newtown Theatre
The Christmas film series kicks off Friday, Dec. 11 with "Holiday Inn" and concludes with "Polar Express" on Christmas Eve.

Christmas movies will again be shown on the big screen in Newtown this holiday season.
The Newtown Theatre’s annual Christmas movie series starts Friday Dec. 11 and continues through Dec. 24, when “Polar Express” will be screened.
Other films in this year’s line up include “White Christmas,” “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

As in the past, each patron who brings a canned or non-perishable food item to a Christmas movie will receive half-price admission. All food will be donated to local food pantries.

- “Holiday Inn” with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire – Friday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
- “It’s a Wonderful Life” – Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m.
- “White Christmas” – Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
- “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” – Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
- “A Christmas Story” – Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.
- “Home Alone” – Sunday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m.
- “Polar Express” – Thursday, Dec. 24 at 10 a.m. (Free hot chocolate for everyone and Santa sleigh bells for every child.)
