2009 Council Rock Grad Killed In Philly Stabbing
An arrest has been made in the stabbing of Colin McGovern, 24, from Churchville, who was killed early Sunday morning in Rittenhouse Square.

Philadelphia Police have identified the victim and the suspect in a fatal stabbing early Sunday morning in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square.
Colin McGovern, 24, of Churchville was killed shortly after 3 a.m. He suffered from multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead a half hour later at Hahnemann Hospital.
Steven E. Simminger, 40, of Media has been charged with murder and related offenses.

According to police, the preliminary investigation has revealed that McGovern and his friend were involved in a verbal altercation with Simminger over hockey teams. The altercation escalated to the stabbing, police said.
Simminger was wearing a NJ Devils baseball cap, which prompted the altercation, police said.

McGovern is a 2009 Council Rock South graduate, according to his Facebook profile. He was currently living in Philadelphia, according to his profile.
