NEWTOWN, PA — Clouds rolled into Bucks County just in time for the big eclipse on Monday afternoon, but it wasn't a complete disappointment as many were still able to catch views of the celestial happening through breaks in the cloud cover.

As eclipse-themed music filled the air outside of the Borscht Belt at the Village at Newtown South, a handful of people gathered in the parking lot for a viewing party. Looking skyward, they strained to catch a glimpse of the 89 percent partial eclipse through the clouds.

While the partial eclipse didn't have the dramatics of the path of totality being experienced by other parts of the nation, it was still kind of fun knowing millions of others were gazing up at the same moon as the celestial event moved its way across the nation.

Between bites of bagels and Reuben sandwiches, Borscht Belt regulars and a handful of others watched the event unfold wearing complementary viewing glasses given out by the deli. They occasionally let out shouts as the partial eclipse came into view and then disappeared again.

Mark your calendars. The next big eclipse will take place in 2044.
