Community Invited To Welcome Home CR-Newtown U11 Baseball Team

NEWTOWN, PA — The public is invited to come out and celebrate the Council Rock Newtown U-11 baseball team on Sunday after winning districts, sections, regionals, and the Pennsylvania state championship.

A Welcome Home Party is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at the Chandler Field on South Sycamore Street.

"Let's show this team how proud we are of their accomplishments," said event organizers. "Come celebrate this amazing Little League team."

The team won District 30, Section 8, and the Pennsylvania State tournament titles before advancing to the East Region Invitational Tournament held this past week in Beverly, Mass.

At the regional tournament, the team won the Mid-Atlantic Region bracket, a group of Delaware, Maryland, and Washington DC, to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal, CR Newtown beat New York, the Metro Region winner, in a dramatic walk-off win. The team’s run ended in a championship game loss to Massachusetts, the winner of the New England Region.
